In our October 2026 search, June was the cheapest month for a campervan picked up and returned in Cairns, at A$183 a day, and October the most expensive, at A$293, for 2 people, before excess cover and extras. By season, a day typically cost A$202 from June to August and A$267 from September to November. We checked 563 live prices from 10 rental companies, picked up and returned in Cairns. All prices are for two people, before excess cover and extras.
A campervan from Cairns typically costs 202 Australian dollars a day in winter, from June to August. In autumn, March to May, it is 203. In summer, December to February, 225. And spring is the most expensive season: about 267 dollars a day, from September to November. That is 32 percent more than in winter.
For a typical week of seven nights, that is 1,414 dollars in winter, 1,421 in autumn, 1,575 in summer, and 1,869 in spring.
Month by month, June is the cheapest month, at 183 dollars a day. October is the most expensive, at 293. The cheapest offer we found was just 67 dollars a day, in June.
Ten rental companies rent campervans in Cairns. The cheapest typical price was Awesome Campers, at 107 dollars a day. Overall, a day from Cairns typically costs 220 dollars, the highest of the five cities in our Australia study, against 197 from Sydney.

On 3 November 2026 we searched the CampervanPlanet booking engine for 7-night rentals for 2 people, picked up and returned in Cairns, one sample week every month from November 2026 to October 2027: 587 prices for 53 vehicles from 10 rental companies. Price per day = rental price for 7 nights divided by 7, for every company. Typical = median price per day. Prices are the rental price shown in our search in Australian dollars; excess cover, extras, anything paid at pick-up and the bond are not included. Rooftop tents are excluded. One-way prices are for the weeks of 8 December 2026, 9 March 2027 and 8 June 2027. Prices change with dates and availability.
