CampervanPlanet operates as your direct intermediary in Iceland and through a trusted booking partner for other destinations worldwide. These terms explain how it all works.

Introduction
Welcome to CampervanPlanet ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using our website at campervanplanet.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before making any booking.
CampervanPlanet is a comparison and booking platform. We help you find and compare campervan, motorhome, and RV rental offers from providers around the world. How we facilitate your booking depends on your destination:
Iceland: CampervanPlanet acts as your direct intermediary. We manage the booking ourselves, support you before, during and after your trip, and handle the relationship with the rental provider on your behalf.
All other destinations: We work in partnership with a trusted third-party booking partner, who facilitates the reservation, handles payment processing, and manages the contractual relationship between you and the rental provider.
Rental Provider: The company that owns and supplies the vehicle. Your rental agreement (including pick-up, drop-off, insurance, and vehicle condition) is ultimately between you and the rental provider.
You (the Customer): The person making the booking and using the rental vehicle.
This means that when you book through CampervanPlanet for Iceland, your booking is with us directly; for all other destinations, your booking is with our third-party partner. In every case, the rental contract itself is between you and the rental provider, whose own terms will be provided to you at the time of booking.
Bookings & Reservations
When you complete a booking through CampervanPlanet:
Booking Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email containing your booking reference, rental details, and important information about your trip. For Iceland bookings, this email is issued by CampervanPlanet. For all other destinations, the confirmation is issued by our third-party booking partner.
CampervanPlanet 48-Hour Review Right:We reserve the right to cancel or amend any booking within 48 hours of confirmation, at no cost to you. This safeguard allows us to correct errors (for example, wrong dates, wrong vehicle category, or pricing inconsistencies) and to help you finalise the booking correctly. If we exercise this right, you will receive a full refund and our team will assist you in re-booking the right option.
Booking Accuracy: You are responsible for ensuring that all details you provide (dates, pick-up/drop-off locations, driver information) are accurate. Errors discovered after the 48-hour review window may result in additional charges or booking cancellation under the provider's standard terms.
Age Requirements: Most rental providers require the primary driver to be at least 21 years old (some require 25+). Age requirements vary by provider and destination. Please check the specific requirements shown during the booking process.
Driving Licence: You must hold a valid driving licence appropriate for the vehicle you are renting. Some countries require an International Driving Permit (IDP) in addition to your domestic licence.
Pricing & Payments
Prices displayed on CampervanPlanet are provided by CampervanPlanet (for Iceland) or our third-party booking partner (for all other destinations), in coordination with the rental providers. Please note:
Currency Display: Prices are shown in the currency you select on our site. The actual charge may vary slightly due to exchange rate fluctuations at the time of payment.
What's Included: Each listing clearly shows what is included in the price (e.g., basic insurance, mileage allowance, equipment). Extras such as additional drivers, child seats, GPS units, or upgraded insurance are available at an additional cost.
Payment Processing: Payments for Iceland bookings are handled by CampervanPlanet. Payments for all other destinations are handled by our third-party booking partner. In neither case does CampervanPlanet process or store your full credit card data outside the secure payment systems used for the transaction.
Security Deposit: Most rental providers require a security deposit at the time of vehicle pick-up. This is held on your credit card and returned after the vehicle is returned in satisfactory condition. Deposit amounts vary by provider and vehicle type.
Additional Charges: You may be liable for additional charges for late returns, fuel shortages, vehicle damage, traffic fines, or other fees as outlined in the rental provider's terms.
Cancellations & Modifications
Our 48-hour review right (re-stated): Within 48 hours of a confirmed booking, CampervanPlanet may cancel and refund a reservation in full, without penalty to you, in order to correct booking errors or to help you re-book the right option. After this 48-hour window, the standard cancellation policy below applies.
Cancellation terms are set by the rental provider, not by CampervanPlanet. Each rental company has its own cancellation, modification and refund policy, and we simply relay those terms to you when you book. Policies vary significantly between providers: some are flexible and allow free cancellation up to 24 hours before pick-up, while others apply a penalty (which can be partial or, in some cases, the full booking amount) from the moment the reservation is confirmed.
For this reason, it is essential to read the specific provider's terms and conditions, displayed in the third step of the booking process, before confirming your reservation. By completing the booking, you accept those provider-specific terms in addition to these general Terms & Conditions.
In general, the cancellation framework looks like this:
Free Cancellation: Many bookings offer free cancellation up to a certain number of days before the pick-up date. The specific cancellation window is displayed during the booking process and in your confirmation email.
Late Cancellations: Cancellations made after the free cancellation period may be subject to a cancellation fee, which could be up to 100% of the booking value depending on the provider and timing.
Modifications: Changes to your booking (dates, vehicle type, pick-up location) should be requested through the entity that issued your booking confirmation (CampervanPlanet for Iceland, our booking partner for other destinations). Modifications are subject to availability and may affect the total price.
No-Show: If you fail to collect your vehicle at the agreed time without prior notice, the booking may be treated as a cancellation, and the full rental amount may be charged.
To cancel or modify a booking, please contact us at hello@campervanplanet.com and our team will assist you, or — for non-Iceland bookings — use the contact details provided by our booking partner in your confirmation email.
Insurance & Liability
Insurance is an important part of any campervan rental. Here is what you should know:
Basic Insurance: Most rental offers include basic insurance coverage (typically Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection) with an excess/deductible amount. This means you are covered for damage or theft, but you may be responsible for paying up to the excess amount.
Excess Reduction: Many providers offer the option to reduce or eliminate your excess for an additional daily fee. We recommend considering this for peace of mind, especially on longer trips.
What's Typically Not Covered: Standard insurance usually does not cover damage to tyres, windscreen, undercarriage, roof, or interior. Driving on prohibited roads (such as F-roads in Iceland without a suitable 4x4 vehicle) may void your insurance entirely.
Third-Party Insurance: You may choose to purchase independent excess insurance from a third-party provider before your trip. Check that such policies are accepted by your rental provider.
CampervanPlanet's role: We display insurance information as provided by the rental providers (and, for non-Iceland destinations, by our third-party booking partner). We are not an insurance provider and do not underwrite any insurance products. For specific insurance queries, please contact the rental provider, or — for non-Iceland bookings — our booking partner using the details in your confirmation email.
Vehicle Collection & Return
Your rental experience with the provider begins at pick-up and ends at drop-off. Key points to keep in mind:
Pick-Up: You must present a valid driving licence, the credit card used for the booking (or as specified), and your booking confirmation. The provider will conduct a vehicle inspection with you, take photos and note any pre-existing damage before driving away.
Vehicle Condition: You are responsible for returning the vehicle in the same condition as collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Report any damage or mechanical issues to the provider immediately.
Fuel Policy: Vehicles are typically provided with a full tank and should be returned with a full tank. If not, a refuelling charge will apply.
Late Returns: Returning a vehicle later than the agreed time may result in additional daily charges. If you anticipate a late return, contact the provider as soon as possible.
One-Way Rentals: Some bookings allow drop-off at a different location from pick-up. One-way fees may apply and will be shown during the booking process.
Your Responsibilities
When using CampervanPlanet and renting a vehicle through our platform, you agree to:
Provide Accurate Information: All personal details, driver information, and booking details must be truthful and accurate.
Comply with Local Laws: You must obey all traffic laws and driving regulations in the country where you are renting. This includes speed limits, seatbelt requirements, and rules about driving under the influence.
Respect Rental Terms: Abide by the rental provider's specific terms, including restrictions on off-road driving, border crossings, towing, and maximum passenger numbers.
Report Issues Promptly: Any accidents, breakdowns, damage, or theft must be reported to the rental provider immediately, and to the local authorities where required by law.
Travel Insurance: We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers campervan holidays, including trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and personal belongings.
Our Website
CampervanPlanet strives to provide accurate and up-to-date information, but please be aware:
Information Accuracy: Prices, availability, vehicle specifications, and provider details displayed on our website are sourced from the rental providers and, for non-Iceland destinations, from our third-party booking partner. While we make every effort to ensure accuracy, this information may change without notice.
No Guarantee: We do not guarantee that any particular vehicle, price, or offer will be available at the time of booking. Availability is subject to confirmation by the rental provider and the booking system that issues your confirmation.
External Links: Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these external sites.
Intellectual Property: All content on CampervanPlanet, including text, images, logos, and design, is our property or used under licence. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content without our prior written permission.
Limitation of Liability
CampervanPlanet acts as a comparison and referral service. As such:
We Are Not a Rental Company: We do not own, operate, maintain, or inspect any rental vehicles. We are not responsible for the condition, safety, or suitability of any vehicle.
Booking and Rental Contracts: Your rental contract is always with the rental provider. For Iceland bookings, the booking contract is with CampervanPlanet. For all other destinations, the booking contract is with our third-party booking partner. Disputes regarding bookings or payments should be directed to the entity that issued your booking confirmation; disputes regarding the vehicle, rental terms or driving experience should be directed to the rental provider.
Indirect Damages: To the maximum extent permitted by law, CampervanPlanet shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our website or any booking made through our platform.
Force Majeure: We are not liable for any failure or delay in providing our services caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, or government actions.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by Icelandic law.
Privacy & Data Protection
We take your privacy seriously. When you use CampervanPlanet:
Data Collection: We collect only the information necessary to provide our comparison service and improve your experience. This includes browsing data, search preferences, and any contact information you voluntarily provide.
Data Sharing: When you proceed with a booking, your details are shared with the rental provider to process your reservation. For non-Iceland bookings, your details are also shared with our third-party booking partner so they can manage the reservation and payment. For Iceland bookings, your data is processed by CampervanPlanet directly. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Cookies: We use cookies to enhance your browsing experience. For full details, please see our Cookie Policy.
Your Rights: You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. Contact us at hello@campervanplanet.com for any data-related requests.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Iceland. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or your use of CampervanPlanet shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Reykjavik, Iceland.
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or business practices. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
Continued use of CampervanPlanet after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
