Quick answers

Which is the best campervan hire company in Australia?

It depends on the trip. For a motorhome with its own toilet and shower, maui. For 4WD and outback tracks, Britz (4WD at most depots except Sydney and Hobart) or Campervan Village (4WDs with rooftop tents). On a budget, Campervan Village or Mighty, THL's economy brand. For long one-way trips, Apollo, Britz and maui, each with ten depots from Sydney to Broome.

How much does it cost to hire a campervan, motorhome or RV in Australia?

Campervan and motorhome hire in Australia costs from €40 a day, and the typical (median) price for a 7-night hire is €103 a day in June (low season), €117 in March (mid season) and €142 in January (high season). A 7-night hire at the median comes to about €721 in June, €819 in March and €994 in January (7 × the daily median). These figures come from the CampervanPlanet campervan rental price index, updated 9 October 2026, based on 270 live offers from 8 companies (raw data in the price index CSV). Bond cover, one-way fees, fuel and campsites come on top.

Can I book every company on this page with CampervanPlanet?

How do Australian campervan hire companies compare?

They differ most on depots, 4WD, one-way rules and bond. All 13 companies in one table: the vehicles they rent, their Australian depots, whether they allow one-way trips and the standard bond or excess before any extra cover. The last column says whether you can book them through CampervanPlanet. Bonds and fees change often, so treat them as of October 2026 and check the rental terms of your vehicle before you pay. Ratings are not in the table because each company is rated on a different site; you will find them in the company cards below.

Company by company

Which campervan hire companies operate in Australia, and what is each one like?

We compare 13 campervan and motorhome hire companies that operate from the main Australian cities, 9 of them bookable with us. This is not every company in Australia: smaller local operators and peer-to-peer platforms, where you rent a private owner’s van, are not covered here. Tourism Holdings (THL) owns maui (premium motorhomes), Britz (mid-range and 4WD), Mighty (budget) and Apollo, and they share the same ten depots from Sydney to Broome. Around them sit independent companies such as Campervan Village, Indie Campers, Travellers Autobarn, Cruisin and JUCY, plus local specialists in Tasmania and Western Australia. Ratings below are quoted from our brand review pages (October 2026); they come from different sites and sample sizes, so do not compare them like for like.

ApolloNo comparable rating on our review page
Best for one-way trips and relocations

Founded in Brisbane in 1985 and now part of Tourism Holdings (THL), the group behind maui and Britz. Apollo covers the same ten Australian depots as its sister brands, with 2WD campervans and motorhomes plus 4WD models. The standard excess is AU$5,000 on HiTop and Endeavour vans, AU$7,500 on 2WD motorhomes and AU$8,000 on 4WDs; The High Road cover (about AU$50 to 60 a day) brings it close to zero. One-way hires run across the network with a fee, and relocation deals start from $1 a day. Read our Apollo review.

Britz2.3/5ProductReview.com.au; TripAdvisor Darwin 2.4/5
Best for 4WD and the outback

THL's mid-range brand and the widest 4WD choice among the companies we sell: the Maverick, Warrior and Safari 4WDs (the Safari with a rooftop tent and awning) are available at most depots except Sydney and Hobart, alongside 2WD campervans and motorhomes. The liability deposit runs from about AU$5,000 on small 2WD vans to about AU$8,000 on 4WDs; The High Road (about AU$50 a day) takes 2WD vans to zero. Minimum driver age is 21. Review scores are weak (ProductReview.com.au 2.3/5, TripAdvisor Darwin 2.4/5), mostly about service and refunds. Read our Britz review.

mauiNo comparable rating on our review page
Best motorhome with toilet and shower

THL's premium brand, and only 2WD motorhomes: six models for 2 to 6 people, all with an onboard bathroom and automatic gearbox. The standard liability and bond is AU$7,500 plus a card surcharge (3.1%, 2.9% on Amex); with The High Road, Value Pack or Platinum Pack the excess drops to zero on 2WD vans and the bond to a AU$250 hold. One-way fees are AU$200 between eastern and southern depots and AU$300 if the trip touches Darwin, Perth, Broome or Alice Springs, plus a AU$900 Broome location fee; the northern depots close roughly December to March. Read our maui review.

Mighty and MightyLITENo comparable rating on our review page
THL's budget brand

Mighty is THL's economy brand: vehicles that start life with maui and Britz move down to Mighty as they age. We sell both Mighty and MightyLITE vehicles, listed at the same ten THL depots in our depot census. We do not have a review page for them yet, so check the bond, one-way rules and inclusions in the rental terms of each vehicle before you book.

Best for budget 4WD with rooftop tents

The cheapest route into a 4WD with rooftop tents (Grip 4x4, Desert Sands 4x4, D5 4x4), plus 2WD campervans and 2WD vans with a rooftop tent such as the Mystery Machine. It is the only company here with an Exmouth depot in our search. The bond is about AU$7,500 on 2WD and up to AU$9,500 on 4WD, with AU$500 more for 2WD travel in remote WA and NT; Damage Cover costs about AU$30 to 90 a day. Drivers from 18 can hire a 2WD (21 for 4WD). Trustpilot scores sit around 2.5 to 2.9/5 depending on the regional site. Read our Campervan Village review.

Best for a low deposit with full cover

A European company with seven Australian depots and a mix of campervans, motorhomes and a 4x4 with rooftop tent. Its cover works in three levels: Basic leaves a high deposit and excess, while Premium cuts the excess to zero and, in Australia, the deposit to about €500. One-way hires run between many depots with a fee, but not every pair. Trustpilot shows 3.6/5 across 26,804 reviews (15 October 2026) for the whole company, not just Australia. Who should rent what

Which campervan hire company is best for each type of traveller?

There is no single best campervan hire company in Australia: the right one depends on how many of you travel, whether you need a bathroom, and whether your route leaves the sealed roads.

  • Families

maui rents only 2WD motorhomes with toilet and shower, for 2 to 6 people, at ten depots. Apollo and Britz also have 2WD motorhomes. Check that the seatbelts match your group.
  • Couples

For two, a 2-berth campervan or the 2-berth maui Ultima if you want a bathroom. Britz has the 2-berth HiTop and Trailblazer, and Campervan Village has small budget vans.
  • First campervan trip

Apollo, Britz and maui share ten depots and Britz includes bedding, a kitchen kit and 24/7 roadside assistance as standard, a simple start if you have never driven a campervan.
  • Budget

Campervan Village and Mighty are the budget options we sell, from 2WD vans to rooftop-tent models. JUCY and Calypso are also budget brands but are not bookable with us.
  • 4WD and the outback

Britz has the widest 4WD range (Maverick, Warrior, Safari), Campervan Village the budget 4WDs with rooftop tents, and Allstar 4WD Hilux campers in Perth, Broome and Darwin. See our 4WD camper hire guide for Australia.
  • Long one-way trips

Apollo, Britz and maui share ten depots, so Sydney to Cairns or Adelaide to Darwin is possible with a one-way fee. Campervan Village and Indie Campers allow one-way between many depots.
  • Drivers under 21

Campervan Village rents 2WD vans from age 18 (21 for 4WD) and JUCY campervans from 18. Britz, Cruisin and Calypso ask for 21.
  • Tasmania

Britz, Apollo, maui, Mighty, Campervan Village and Indie Campers have a Hobart depot. Tasmania Campers is Hobart-only and not bookable with us. Read our Hobart campervan hire page.
Head to head

How do the main Australian campervan brands compare head to head?

maui suits a bathroom on board, Britz the widest 4WD choice and Campervan Village the tightest budget; the five match-ups below use the same facts as the table above (October 2026).

  • maui vs Britz

Same owner (THL), same ten depots. maui gets the newest vehicles and rents only motorhomes, all with a bathroom; Britz is the mid-range brand and adds 4WD. Standard excess: AU$7,500 at maui, about AU$5,000 to AU$8,000 at Britz. Choose maui if you want a bathroom on board; choose Britz if you need a 4WD or a smaller van. Read our full Britz vs maui comparison, with measured prices by season.
  • Apollo vs Britz

Both cover the same ten depots with 2WD campervans, motorhomes and 4WD, with standard excess from AU$5,000 up to about AU$8,000 for 4WD. Choose Apollo if you are hunting one-way relocation deals from $1 a day; choose Britz if you want the widest 4WD range, including a Safari with rooftop tent.
  • Britz vs Campervan Village for 4WD

Britz 4WDs (Maverick, Warrior, Safari) carry a deposit of about AU$8,000. Campervan Village 4WDs come with rooftop tents and a bond of up to AU$9,500, and add Exmouth for Ningaloo. Choose Britz if you want more 4WD models across ten depots; choose Campervan Village if you want a rooftop-tent 4WD or start in Exmouth.
  • JUCY vs Campervan Village

Both target budget travellers. JUCY has the lower starting bond (AU$3,000 on the Crib+) and a 3.5/5 Trustpilot score, but is not bookable with us; Campervan Village scores about 2.5 to 2.9/5 and takes drivers from 18 on 2WD. Choose JUCY if a low bond matters most and you book direct; choose Campervan Village if you want to book with us. Read our full JUCY vs Spaceships comparison.
  • Indie Campers vs Britz

Indie Campers keeps the deposit low (about €500 in Australia with Premium cover) at seven depots; Britz covers ten depots including Adelaide, Alice Springs and Broome, with more 4WD choice. Choose Indie Campers if a low deposit is your priority; choose Britz if you start in Adelaide, Alice Springs or Broome.
Alternatives

What are the best alternatives to JUCY in Australia?

JUCY is not bookable with us, so the closest budget alternatives we sell are Campervan Village, Mighty and Travellers Autobarn. For JUCY itself, read our JUCY review.

  • Campervan Village

Budget 2WD vans and 4WDs with rooftop tents at eleven depots, drivers from 18 on 2WD. Its standard bond (about AU$7,500 on 2WD) is higher than JUCY’s AU$3,000 on the Crib+.
  • Mighty and MightyLITE

THL’s budget brand at the ten THL depots, with older vehicles that started life with maui and Britz.
  • Travellers Autobarn

Campervans in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns, Perth and Darwin; plan a return trip, as one-way was not shown in our search.
Age, bond & one-way

What are the minimum age, bond and one-way rules of each campervan hire company?

Where companies publish it, the minimum age is 21 (18 for Campervan Village 2WD), the standard bond is mostly AU$5,000 to AU$8,000 before extra cover, and one-way hire is allowed for a fee. The table shows what each company publishes; where we have no verified figure it says “Check rental terms”, which you can read for every vehicle in our search before you book.

2WD vs 4WD

Do you need a 4WD camper or is a 2WD campervan enough in Australia?

Usually a 2WD campervan is enough: you need a 4WD camper only for unsealed tracks. Choose by the roads on your itinerary, not by the look of the vehicle.

  • 2WD is enough for the classic routes

Standard campervans are built for sealed roads. The East Coast from Sydney to Cairns, the Great Ocean Road and most of Tasmania are sealed, so a 2WD does the job and costs less. The rental terms enforce this: Britz bans 2WD vehicles from unsealed roads beyond 12 km, and Cruisin (not bookable with us) allows only about 12 km of unsealed road to reach recognised campgrounds. Our 10-day East Coast route follows the coast from Sydney to Cairns and suggests a day tour for K’gari rather than driving the campervan there.
  • Hire a 4WD only for unsealed tracks

For the Gibb River Road, K’gari (Fraser Island), Cape York or unsealed tracks in the Red Centre you need a real 4WD, and AWD is not the same thing. Britz, Apollo, Campervan Village, Indie Campers (a 4x4 with rooftop tent), Allstar and Tasmania Campers rent 4WDs; see 4WD camper hire in Australia and 4x4 with rooftop tent hire.
  • 4WD means a higher bond

Expect a larger excess on 4WD: AU$8,000 at Apollo, about AU$8,000 at Britz, up to AU$9,500 at Campervan Village and AU$6,000 at Tasmania Campers.
  • Not every depot has 4WD

Britz has no 4WD in Sydney or Hobart. Darwin, Broome, Alice Springs, Perth and Cairns are the usual starting points for outback and Top End routes.
When to go

When is the best time to hire a campervan in Australia?

For price, June is the cheapest month we measure (€103 a day typical) and January the most expensive (€142). For the tropical north, the dry months outside the wet season are the usual choice.

Typical (median) campervan price per day in Australia, 7-night hire, CampervanPlanet Price Index updated 9 October 2026.

Month measuredTypical price per daySeason in our index
January 2027€142High season (southern summer)
March 2027€117Mid season
June 2027€103Low season (southern winter)
  • The south and east: Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart

January is the most expensive month we measure (€142 a day typical) and June the cheapest (€103). If your dates are flexible, the cooler months cost less.
  • The tropical north: Darwin, Broome, Cairns

The wet season in the tropical north runs roughly November to April, and maui closes its northern depots roughly December to March, so check depot opening before you plan a northern start or finish.
  • How long should a campervan trip in Australia be?

Plan at least two or three weeks, because distances are long; that is what Alberto Porro, CEO of CampervanPlanet, recommends for Australia. A one-way hire saves days of driving back, and a 7-night hire costs about €721 at the typical June price in our October 2026 index.
Pickup & one-way

Can you hire a campervan one-way in Australia?

Yes, one-way campervan hire is possible with most of the big companies, but the fee depends on the route. Distances are long, so a one-way trip often saves several days of driving back.

  • THL brands: Apollo, Britz and maui

One-way between their ten depots. maui charges AU$200 on the east and south and AU$300 if Darwin, Perth, Broome or Alice Springs are involved; Britz quotes about AU$195 to 300. Broome adds a location fee of up to AU$900, and maui closes its northern depots roughly December to March.
  • Independent companies

Campervan Village and Indie Campers allow one-way between most or many depots for a fee. Cruisin (not bookable with us) charges about AU$165 and often waives it from 21 days; Calypso (not bookable with us) charges AU$220 plus route cost with a minimum of about 7 days.
  • Where one-way is not possible

Tasmania Campers vehicles stay in Tasmania. Travellers Autobarn did not offer one-way trips in our search when we last checked.
  • Relocation deals

Apollo runs relocations from $1 a day on fixed routes and dates, usually with a short pick-up window, so they suit only flexible travellers.
One-way routes

Which one-way campervan routes are popular in Australia, and who covers them?

Sydney to Melbourne, Cairns to Brisbane and Darwin to Adelaide are covered by several companies with depots at both ends. The fees below are the ones the companies publish; to see the one-way price for your dates, choose a different drop-off city in the search on our booking page.

Real complaints

What do travellers complain about with campervan hire in Australia, and how do you avoid it?

The low review scores in this market are mostly about bonds, refunds, fees, service and the state of the vehicle at pick-up. Each point below is quoted from our brand reviews (October 2026), with what to do about it before you pay.

  • Slow bond refunds

The bond is held on the main driver’s credit card. Campervan Village says refunds usually take 7 days and up to 30, but reviews report waits of 37 days or more, and it keeps a 1.75% merchant fee on bond transactions. What to do: use a credit card with room for the full bond, or take the company’s cover to lower it before you travel.
  • Service and refunds at the big brands

Britz scores 2.3/5 on ProductReview.com.au, mostly over service and refunds, and JUCY (not bookable with us) 3.5/5 on Trustpilot. What to do: keep every change and claim in writing, and read the cancellation terms of your vehicle before you pay.
  • Vehicle condition at pick-up

Campervan Village reviews mention dirt, broken air-conditioning and faulty equipment, and recent Indie Campers reviews mention vans not cleaned or missing items such as bedding or cookware. What to do: inspect the vehicle at pick-up and take photos with your phone, as Tourism Australia advises.
  • Fees that appear at the counter

Cleaning, late return and drop-off change fees sit in the terms (Campervan Village), maui adds a 3.1% card surcharge on the bond, and Broome carries a location fee of up to AU$900 at maui and Britz. What to do: read the rental terms shown for every vehicle in our search before you pay.
  • Taking a 2WD where it is not allowed

Britz bans 2WD vehicles from unsealed roads beyond 12 km, and Cruisin allows only about 12 km to reach a campground. What to do: if your route has gravel tracks, hire a 4WD; see the 4WD camper hire guide.
  • Bedding you expected but did not get

Britz, maui and Cruisin include bedding; Campervan Village does not on most models. What to do: check the inclusions of your vehicle and bring or hire bedding if it is missing.

This guide compares campervan and motorhome hire companies in Australia so you can choose by the facts that change a trip: depots, 2WD or 4WD, one-way rules, the bond held on your card and the price. We are a booking platform: we compare and sell vans from rental companies but do not own a fleet, and we also list companies we cannot sell, clearly marked, so you can compare them with the ones we sell. We do not cover every company in Australia: smaller local operators and peer-to-peer platforms are not on this page.

Prices come only from our own Campervan Price Index (updated 9 October 2026): 7-night hires, up to three depots per country, low season in June, mid season in March and high season in January, rooftop tents excluded. For Australia that gives from €40 a day and medians of €103, €117 and €142 a day, from 270 offers by 8 companies. Company facts come from our brand review pages and the depots in our booking engine in October 2026.

How we keep this guide accurate

Ratings are quoted as they appear on our brand review pages and come from different sites (Trustpilot, ProductReview.com.au, TripAdvisor), so we do not rank companies by them and the order on this page is not a ranking. Bonds and fees change often: we date every figure and the rental terms of each vehicle in our search are what apply.

Good to know

What do travellers ask most about campervan hire in Australia?

Which campervan hire company has the best reviews in Australia?+

Among the 13 companies on this page, Cruisin Motorhomes has the strongest score (Trustpilot “Excellent”, 1,200+ reviews), but it is not bookable with us. Indie Campers shows 3.6/5 on Trustpilot across 26,804 reviews (15 October 2026) for the whole company, Campervan Village about 2.5 to 2.9/5 on Trustpilot, Britz 2.3/5 on ProductReview.com.au (mostly about service and refunds) and JUCY 3.5/5 on Trustpilot. The scores come from different sites and sample sizes (October 2026, quoted from our brand reviews), so read them as a warning sign, not a ranking, and check the bond and the rental terms of your vehicle.

Which campervan hire company is best for families in Australia?+

maui, if you want a bathroom on board: it rents only 2WD motorhomes with toilet and shower, from the 2-berth Ultima to 6-berth models, at ten depots from Sydney to Broome. The 2-berth Ultima has no child seats, so it does not take children under four; the Ultima Plus adds a berth for a child. Apollo and Britz also rent 2WD motorhomes at the same depots. Check that the seatbelts in the vehicle match your group before you book.

Do I need a 4WD or is a 2WD campervan enough in Australia?+

A 2WD is enough for sealed routes such as the East Coast, the Great Ocean Road and most of Tasmania. You need a real 4WD for unsealed tracks like the Gibb River Road, K’gari or Cape York. A 4WD costs more and carries a higher bond, up to AU$8,000 at Apollo and Britz and up to AU$9,500 at Campervan Village. Check the rental terms too: Britz bans its 2WD vehicles from unsealed roads beyond 12 km, and Cruisin allows only about 12 km of unsealed road to reach a recognised campground.

Can I hire a campervan one-way in Australia?+

Yes, with most large companies. Apollo, Britz and maui allow one-way between their ten depots for a fee (maui: AU$200 on the east and south, AU$300 to or from Darwin, Perth, Broome or Alice Springs), and Campervan Village and Indie Campers between many depots. To see one-way prices, choose a different drop-off city in our search. Tasmania Campers vehicles cannot leave Tasmania.

What is the minimum age to hire a campervan in Australia?+

Usually 21 with a full licence: that is the rule at Britz, Cruisin and Calypso. JUCY campervans and Campervan Village 2WD vans accept drivers from 18 (21 for 4WD). Check the rental terms of your vehicle, because young-driver fees can apply.

What is the cheapest month to hire a campervan in Australia?+

Of the three months our index measures, June (Australian winter) is the cheapest, with a typical €103 a day, against €117 in March and €142 in January (October 2026 index). Northern Australia is the exception: its dry season is the busy time there.

How much is the bond or excess on a campervan in Australia?+

The standard excess ranges from AU$2,000 (Calypso) to AU$7,500 on most motorhomes and up to AU$9,500 on some 4WDs. It is usually held on the main driver’s credit card at pick-up and released after a damage-free return: up to 7 days at JUCY, about 14 business days at maui and Cruisin, and usually 7 (up to 30) days at Campervan Village. Daily cover cuts it: at maui, Apollo and Britz, The High Road takes 2WD vans to zero or close to it.

What is the cheapest campervan hire in Australia?+

The cheapest offer in our October 2026 index started from €40 a day for a 7-night hire. Budget brands we sell include Campervan Village and Mighty; JUCY and Calypso are budget brands we do not sell. June is the cheapest of the months we measure, with a typical €103 a day.

How much does it cost to hire a campervan or motorhome in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin or Hobart?+

Our price index publishes one national figure for Australia, not city prices: campervans start from €40 a day, with a typical €103 a day in June and €142 in January for a 7-night hire (updated 9 October 2026). For a city, see our Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns, Perth, Adelaide, Darwin and Hobart campervan hire pages, or search your dates for live prices.

Can you hire a campervan in Tasmania or take one on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry?+

Yes, you can hire a campervan in Tasmania: Apollo, Britz, maui, Mighty, Campervan Village and Indie Campers have a Hobart depot in our search, and Britz allows one-way hire to and from Tasmania. Tasmania Campers (Hobart only, not bookable with us) keeps its vans on the island, so its hires do not need the Spirit of Tasmania ferry between Geelong (near Melbourne) and Devonport. Cruisin (not bookable with us) includes the ferry on eligible Hobart relocations. If you plan to take a mainland campervan across, confirm in the rental terms that the company allows it. See our Hobart campervan hire page.

Can you sleep or park anywhere in a campervan or motorhome in Australia?+

No, you cannot sleep or park a campervan, motorhome or RV anywhere in Australia: where you can stay overnight is set by each state and local council, and many towns do not allow sleeping in vehicles on the street. Use holiday parks, national park campgrounds (many need a permit booked online with the state parks service) or rest areas signed for overnight stops, and check the council rules in Tasmania too. Vans without a toilet or shower, such as Calypso’s and most Campervan Village models, are planned around campground facilities.

Should I buy or rent a campervan in Australia?+

For a trip of a few weeks, renting is simpler: insurance and roadside support come with the hire, and you can travel one-way. Buying only starts to make sense for stays of several months, and then you also deal with registration, insurance and selling the vehicle at the end.

What insurance is included in a campervan hire in Australia, and can I add more cover?+

Every rental includes the compulsory third-party insurance required by local law, and most also include basic damage cover with an excess. You can reduce the excess with the company’s protection plans when you book, and many companies also sell them at the counter. The cover and excess of each plan are listed in the offer.

Do I pay the whole campervan hire when I book?+

It depends on the offer. Many bookings take a deposit online and the rest at pick-up, while others are paid in full. The payment plan is shown before you pay and again on your voucher.

Will I get the exact campervan model shown?+

You book a vehicle category. The number of seats and berths shown is what you get, but the exact model, layout or colour can vary within that category, as each rental company decides.

Can I change my dates or add a driver after booking?+

Yes, subject to availability. Contact us or use My Account: date changes may change the price, and an extra driver can usually be added for a fee.

How does campervan pick-up work, and is there an airport shuttle?+

Each depot sets its pick-up hours, and your voucher includes the address and instructions. Some airport depots run a shuttle or are a short taxi ride away. If your flight lands late, tell us when you book so we can confirm a time with the depot.

What if I can’t find the campervan or route I want?+

Send us a quote request with your dates, route and needs, for example a toilet and shower, automatic or a small budget van. Our team checks with the rental companies and replies with options, usually within 2 hours.

Can I book JUCY, Cruisin, Calypso or Tasmania Campers through CampervanPlanet?+

Not today. We list them so you can compare them with the companies we sell, but they are marked “Not bookable with us”. The companies you can book with us are Apollo, Britz, maui, Mighty, Campervan Village, Indie Campers, Travellers Autobarn, Camperman and Allstar.

Do you need a special licence or an International Driving Permit to drive a campervan in Australia?+

No special licence is needed. Tourism Australia says you do not need a special permit to drive a campervan or motorhome, but you might need an International Driving Permit if you do not hold an Australian licence (checked 15 October 2026). Britz, JUCY and Cruisin ask for a valid licence and, if it is not in English, an International Driving Permit or an accredited translation. JUCY and Cruisin are not bookable with us; other companies set their own rules, so check the rental terms of your vehicle before you pay.

What is included in the price of a campervan hire in Australia, and what costs extra?+

It varies by company. Britz, maui and Cruisin include bedding, a kitchen kit and 24/7 roadside assistance; unlimited kilometres come on 2WD vehicles at Britz and maui and on every Cruisin hire (sealed roads only), while Britz 4WDs include 300 km a day. Campervan Village does not include bedding or linen on most models, so you bring or hire it. Extra drivers cost AU$4 a day at maui, capped at AU$60 each (free with its Value or Platinum Pack); Campervan Village includes up to 4 additional drivers free with its Damage Cover options, and Cruisin includes up to three drivers. maui adds a card surcharge of 3.1% (2.9% on Amex) to the bond. At Cruisin (not bookable with us), fuel, tolls and camping fees are paid by the renter; budget for fuel and campsites with any company.

What is a campervan relocation deal in Australia?+

A one-way hire on the company’s route and dates, when it needs to move a vehicle between depots, at a very low daily rate. Tourism Australia mentions relocation deals from AUD$1 a day. Apollo runs relocations from $1 a day, and Cruisin (not bookable with us) runs them too, with the Spirit of Tasmania ferry included on eligible Hobart relocations. They are short and inflexible; for your own dates, a normal one-way hire with a fee is the usual choice, and you see its price by choosing a different drop-off city in our search.
